1500cc of Love

motorcycle ride sonnet

Working my way back to a more traditional sonnet than [intlink id="4480" type="post"]Light 2.0[/intlink] is, but still trying to remain modern in this [intlink id="359" type="category"]poetic[/intlink] adventure…

1500cc of Love

The ride was nothing short of true greatness

A late day sun was full and nurturing

The wind gave us waving trees as witness

Winged friends had songs of our amore to sing

With you as my queen riding on the back

The chariot carried us tirelessly

Employing asphalt ribbons as its track

The machine made the trip effortlessly

Your loving arms wrapped in trust around me

Your face resting snug against my leather

Why this dream for me to feel, live, and see

I won’t ask for my heart was a feather

We rode as one to meet the smiling sun

Many more trips are ours before day’s done
