Maybe the truest thing anyone has ever said about writers is that everyone is indeed a writer. The only difference between those of us who do write and the ones who do not is courage.
The courage to write, no matter if you think anyone else cares or not.
An article at the Salt Lake Tribune tells the tales of two totally different authors who have taken the courage and are being rewarded for their efforts. Writing the Right Stuff explores the paths 17 year old Kate Coursey, and 39 year old Robert Goble, two authors that have different approaches, yet both have the courage.
Coursey has won a National Scholastic Art & Writing gold medal award in the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers’ novel category for her fantasy novel-in-progress.
Kate explains that she tries to write 1000 words a day, fitting the 2hours it takes her to do this in and arounf daily routines such as school and homework.
The 39 year old Goble, a head custodian at an elementary school, has won theMarilyn Brown Unpublished Novel award and a $1,000 honorarium in a competition hosted by Utah Valley University.
Robert talks about the solitude of his job and how the hours of being alone help him create.
These are but two stories, out of thousands, that tell of courage and writing no matter what.

And that might be the real definition of a writer — someone who writes “no matter what.”
Interesting blog mentioning Robert Goble http://fb.me/CXloIAZ4
