Travel Destinations | Memoir Prompt

DestinationsFor some reason, spring brings along with it a longing for adventure. After being cooped up all winter we want to get out and do something –
Alex’s answer to last week’s memoir prompt is evidence of that.

So, this week let’s write about travel destinations.

I have been working on some travel related articles on another site and it has re-awakened some experiences I had all but forgotten about.

We’ve all taken a trip somewhere. Take us with you when you boarded that cruise ship for your long awaited dream vacation; arrived at grandma’s house for a family reunion; set foot on foreign soil for the first time; or watched the sun as it set from your hotel balcony.

  • What was it like?
  • How did you feel?
  • Who did you see?
  • What was the first tourist site you saw?
  • Would you visit there again?

Bring it to life with careful choice of descriptive words and phrases. Use similes, metaphors, personification, and vibrant words. Bring the destination alive — physical setting, emotions, expressions and actions.

Let’s take a trip!
