Thanks to Alex and all those supporting me throughout my recent ordeal with my dad. After a little more than 3 weeks in the hospital and then, pulmonary rehabilitation, he is home now and on the road to recovery — thank God.
It’s been a while since my last memoir prompt, so I would love to see lots of participation this week! Without further ado, this week’s memoir prompt…
Have you ever heard a sound or smelled a certain odor, and were suddenly taken back in time to an event you hadn’t thought of in years? It could be something as simple as the ticking of a clock, a certain perfume, the line from a movie, the aroma of gingerbread baking or a cell phone ring tone. It’s like de’ja’ vu to you.
Why is that memory so important that the smell or sound brought it to the forefront? Who or what does that smell or sound remind you of. Give us details of that memory — make us smell the aroma or hear the sound. Was it funny, frightening, happy or sad? Walk us through the memory scene with you.
Some smells and sounds that might jog your memoy:
Bleach
A School Bell
Cologne
A Fog Horn
Ammonia
Sirens
Salt Air (Ocean)
Alarm Clock
Roses
Train Whistle…

Welcome back, Mandee. Glad to know your dad is on his way back
This looks like yet another fun prompt! Looking forward to it.
Thanks Alex! Much appreciated!!
